Suzanne Paquin (2016)
Her contribution to maritime life in Quebec
In 2016, the Musée maritime du Québec paid tribute to Suzanne Paquin, President and Chief of Operations of Nunavut Eastern Arctic Shipping Inc. (NEAS), for dedicating over 25 years of her career to the development of maritime transportation services in the Arctic. Suzanne Paquin started her career in the 1980s at her family’s company Logistec Corporation. As an expert in maritime transportation, she later focussed on developing this sector in the Far North. In 1994, while continuing to manage NEAS, she merged two companies and created Transport Nanuk Inc. to control maritime transportation in the Arctic. At the time, she oversaw a fleet of five ships and 150 employees, in order to establish connections between the residents of Arctic and Côte-du-Sud communities.
