Donating an Object to the Musée maritime du Québec’s Collection
The collection of the Musée maritime du Québec (MMQ) covers maritime heritage from the following angles:
- Captain Joseph-Elzéar Bernier;
- the merchant navy and the Royal Canadian Navy;
- ship models, navigation instruments, and navigational aid equipment;
- collections related to shipbuilding and cruise line companies.
Objects must be linked to the St. Lawrence River and its tributaries, and/or to Canadian Arctic territories.
Moratorium on donations in 2026
The MMQ has implemented a moratorium on accepting donations for all of 2026, due to priority matters related to the collection. Objects submitted despite the moratorium will not be processed before 2027. No follow-up will be provided before that date.
