{"id":1646,"date":"2021-01-12T09:56:13","date_gmt":"2021-01-12T14:56:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mmq.qc.ca\/?page_id=1646"},"modified":"2026-07-13T15:15:51","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T19:15:51","slug":"object-donations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.mmq.qc.ca\/en\/contribute-to-the-museum\/object-donations\/","title":{"rendered":"Donating an Object to the Mus\u00e9e maritime du Qu\u00e9bec&#8217;s Collection"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The collection of the Mus\u00e9e maritime du Qu\u00e9bec (MMQ) covers maritime heritage from the following angles:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Captain Joseph-Elz\u00e9ar Bernier;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the merchant navy and the Royal Canadian Navy;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ship models, navigation instruments, and navigational aid equipment;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>collections related to shipbuilding and cruise line companies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Objects must be linked to the St. Lawrence River and its tributaries, and\/or to Canadian Arctic territories.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Moratorium on donations in 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The MMQ has implemented a <strong>moratorium on accepting donations for all of 2026<\/strong>, due to priority matters related to the collection. Objects submitted despite the moratorium will not be processed before 2027.
