Her contribution to maritime life in Quebec<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2019, the Mus\u00e9e maritime du Qu\u00e9bec paid tribute to Barbara Pouliot. Her research on the capsizing of the Fort William <\/em>ship in 1965 in the Port of Montr\u00e9al led to the creation of the documentary Faux d\u00e9part : incident du Fort William.<\/em> This work also led to the release of the book Lever l\u2019ancre : John Pouliot, naviguer sur les eaux du monde<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pouliot\u2019s work seeks to preserve our collective memory by recalling this maritime incident and the five crew members who perished. The author also pays tribute to her father, a survivor of the tragedy, the sailors\u2019 work and the families who remained behind, at port, during the sailors\u2019 years at sea.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Barbara Pouliot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Born into a long family line of seafarers, Barbara Pouliot has always been fascinated by navigation.
