In 2013, the Mus\u00e9e maritime du Qu\u00e9bec paid tribute to Raymond B\u00e9rub\u00e9, a telegrapher and sailor with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. He enrolled in Qu\u00e9bec City in 1941 at the age of 20 and received training as a telegrapher. Two years later, he made his first voyage to escort ships and increase naval forces in the North Atlantic. He continued to travel in wartime and witnessed the sinking of the U-575 submarine. At the end of the war, B\u00e9rub\u00e9 returned to Qu\u00e9bec City as a WW II veteran and went on to work on the mainland for railroad companies for 37 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
