The Museum is located at the heart of the village of L’Islet in Côte-du-Sud along the shores of the St. Lawrence River. This community of some 4,000 was the focal point of intense maritime activity in the past. The Côte-du-Sud tourism region is located a mere 35-minute drive east of the Québec bridges. Côte-du-Sud groups together 28 municipalities in the MRC of Montmagny and L’Islet. Along the St. Lawrence River, Côte-du-Sud extends from Berthier-sur-Mer to Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies, and south to the American border. Côte-du-Sud is located at the eastern limits of the Chaudière-Appalaches region near Bas-Saint-Laurent.
